"Dasha, you don't suck at singing, acting, or writing. You are sincerely insane if you think that." Ben informed her, remembering the few times he heard Dasha sing. It always had surprised him to hear such a beautiful voice coming out of the girl he seemed to despise so much. And her writing was great from what he could remember of the writing club. Plus, she always managed to get decent parts in the musicals, didn't she? So she couldn't be bad at acting either. Ben decided she was just being overly critical of herself.
"So much that hasn't happened yet? Like what?" He turned to her with curious eyes.

“Then stick me in an insane asylum.” She chuckled a bit. “Fine, so I don’t suck at it, I just think I’m average. If you look around at the world average doesn’t mean shit anymore. So it doesn’t really matter if I’m average or if I suck.” She smirked a bit. “Doesn’t matter since I haven’t gone to the club in ages, dropped out of the writing club and there’s no way I’m trying out for the school play.” She turned to him and smirked. “Beside if I did try out I might be beauty and you would be the beast, knowing my luck.” She laughed. That wasn’t the real reason, of course. She was too busy daydreaming to be bothered with the real world.
“I don’t know.” Dasha stood up and took a step toward the lake. “So much…like…like…” She sighed, dropping down to the grass again. “I don’t know…I’m just so sure so much hasn’t happened yet.”

"No chances of me being the Beast to your Beauty, I mean, it's not like I'm auditioning." Ben laughed lightly. "But you should do something, Dasha. Even if you are just average like you think, joining clubs and doing more can help you improve and become special. As long as you work at it, you can be who you want." He glanced down at his drawing book. "That's what I'm doing, at least."
He watched as she took a step towards the lake, and bit his bottom lip. Ben understood what she was talking about. A lot of stuff had happened in their lives so far, but it wasn't even close to all of the events that were sure to come up. They were still young. He sighed and stood up as well.
"I have this incredible urge to go swimming," He murmured.

She rolled her eyes. “You’ve never really had a dealing with my luck. Trust me…my luck could fine a way, you have no idea.” She then tilted her head and turned to him. “I’m scared that these words are about to come out of my mouth but you’re right.” She shivered a bit. “Still can’t believe I said that.” She then smirked. “Ah, I probably will. I dunno I’ve just been such a day dreamer lately, it’s almost like a trance I get into some times.” She sighed a little.
She giggled a bit and pointed to her wet clothes. “Been there, done that. Actually kind of fun. I’ll watch your stuff.” She tried to smile as innocently as she could but she probably looked like she was planning something. She wouldn’t look at his drawings…well…she would be tempted but she probably…probably wouldn’t.

Ben shook his head. "Nah, I don't want to go swimming alone. I'd feel strange, having you sit here and watch me." He shrugged one shoulder and looked over at Dasha. It wasn't that he didn't trust her with his stuff either, it was just that it was awkward to swim alone while she stayed out in the grass. Besides, he had kind of hoped she would go with him. It was more fun that way. But seeing as she was already drenched...
"Anyways, I still think you should go for the musical. Who knows, maybe I'd even come and see you in it." He grinned.

She smirked. “Aw, you’re so sweet in your strange ways. Mmm, I dunno. I think I’ll just leave it. I am kind of concentrating on a writing thing. I haven’t shown it to anyone yet. So many mistakes. I revise the same page over and over and then I print it out and revise it all over again.” She smiled.
Then she shrugged. “Psh then let’s go.” She got up and set down her iPod and stretched a bit. Hey, she was already wet. Why not? She liked the cold water. She started running and then dived deep into the water. Even if he decided not to follow her, she didn’t care, she was fine just like this.

Ben smiled a little as Dasha ran towards the lake and dived right in. That was the spirit! He slowly pulled off his shirt, revealing his abnormally thin body. Cocaine made him lose an extraordinary amount of weight, and Ben was still working on gaining it back. He inched on over to the edge of the lake, dipping his foot in and shivering.
"Damn, that's cold." He muttered with a small smile, before working on slipping his whole body in. Although the water was initially freezing, it was also quite refreshing against the hot summer air. Ben relaxed his body and swam forward a bit.

Dasha, being a girl, was of course fully clothed. She smirked a bit. “Ben, you’re so white!” She held up her own arm. “Then again…I am too.” She laughed lightly. She couldn’t help but roll her eyes as Ben dipped a toe in and splashed him. “What a wuss.” She smiled.
She floated on her back a bit. “It’s so nice isn’t it? It’s hot outside but the water’s so cool and the sky is so bright with stars. Forgot how much I missed Stewart.” She sighed a bit and smiled.

"Of course I'm white, it's not like I went sun bathing this summer or anything," Ben smirked, as if Dasha should have known he didn't have the time to sit in the sun over the past three months. He was forgetting that she didn't know about the drug program, and therefore she couldn't have known he didn't spend much time outside.
"Yeah... I forgot how much I missed it too." Right now, he didn't understand why he ever left the school in the first place. Everyone must have thought it was so random how he suddenly disappeared. Ben remembered being stressed out, but after all he went through since then, he realized whatever it was must not have been that bad. Running away was an overreaction, and a humongous mistake.

“I didn’t either. I don’t like the sun. It burns me way too easily and I keep forgetting to put on sun tan lotion. Beside, I just read most of the summer.” She lay on her back and kept staring up at the stars. “Went home of course. Sometimes looking at the stars makes me forget how homesick I am.” She smiled a bit. “You know, I didn’t see you near the end of the year.” She mused.
“It’s so weird. Like, I grew up in the city. I loved the city, but then I just come back here and remember how much I love being in the lake and being able to see the stars, so many of them.” She couldn’t help it, she had to flick a tear from her eye. These were one of those moments where she was happy…and those were becoming fewer as she escaped into her own world.

Ben moved forward in the water around him, watching the small ripples and waves he created by doing so. He watched Dasha with solemn eyes as she expressed her feelings about being in the city and being here at Stewart, and a small sinking feeling arrived in his stomach. Sometimes he wished he had some sort of permanent home to tell the other kids about. He knew that there were tons of students that would kill to travel as much as he did, but it was quite a price to pay, not having anywhere to call home.
"You okay?" Ben asked, noticing the small tear she flicked out of her eye.

She watched the ripples move toward her and made little waves of her own. It was so interesting to watch the water, so still, and then a single tap could create such chaos. She kept making waves, bigger and bigger ones and managed to splash Ben a bit. She smirked and looked up, but her smile faded. “Are you alright?” She asked carefully. She didn’t expect him to tell her the truth, but she still felt she had to ask.
Dasha shook her head. “No one’s ever okay, but yeah. Just got something in my eye.” She lied. Of course, the old ‘something in my eye’ lie. No one ever used that before.
(It’s funny how they both have so many secrets from each other and their whole conversation is like making up lies. xD )
